Most battery ones are not as strong as mains so you may find that you will have the same problem with all of them

My friend has the Avalons and they struggle with her mares coat in places.
If you decide to go for mains ones then get the premier 3000 and change the blades for lister ones, Best combination there is!! Mine are awesome and will cut thro anything

The Lister Liberty are a full size rechargable machine and they are powerful enough to clip anything. They will clip legs, hog manes and whizz through any thickness of coat. Got mine from Clippersharp. If you give them a call they will advise you.

i recently bought some Heiniger Cordless Clippers. Theyre really good and have made a lovely job of the coat. Theyve been absoluelty fine hogging manes and clipping heavy feathers off.

I spoke to Clippersharp as I felt my Avalons weren't quite up to the job. They were extremely helpful (I bought one of those Smart tails grooming rakes from them too). They recommend Liveryman Liberty - they say they are the best on the market.

I also spoke to Peasbridge - maybe I got them on a bad day but I found them a bit snotty and condescending.

As it happened I fiddled around with the Avalons (they don't seem to like oil too much strangely) and I clipped the horses just fine so I didn't end up buying any new ones.
