My horses are being looked after by my mum for various reasons (agrophobia and im ill :() so i havent seen them in months and i feel like ive totally lost control of them now. Normally she listens to my POV but since the snow hit shes been doing them very differently from how i would :o Im not gonna go into details, they have food and water and im sure are totally happy apart from being bored and turning them out 24/7 isnt really an option as the field is very exposed and we cant just stick ad lib hay out.
Please tell me im just beng stupid and slap some sense into me :p

I think you are blessed to have a family who have allowed you to keep your horses on - if I was ill I don't think anyone would look after my one pony who lives out, let alone a few stabled horses :(

There's bound to be differences of opinion but the bigger picture is that your horses are still there, waiting for you to get better. I say buy your mum a big bottle of wine ;)

If you had ever seen my mum on the wine .. you would realize how irresponsible that is :D ;)
I know, i really appreciate everything shes doing its just really hard :(

sadiedeb - Thanks :) Everythings gone t*ts up at the mo where ive been ill feels like everything i had achived is gone! Im right back down to the bottom agaaaaaaaaaaain and ive gotta drag myself out .. the joy :p

If you know they are safe & well you may just have to accept it until you are feeling well enough to go to them again. Warm yourself with the thought that you know they are being taken care of & ready, waiting for you when you at a point when you can take over again. You don't have the pressure of having to try & go down when you are ill, say thanks mum & give her a hug. To do that much work she must really love you.

What you have achieved has not gone it's taking a holiday (probably delayed somewhere due to snow!) - remember it's baby steps all the way and sometimes you go backwards as well as forwards.
(this time 6 years ago I couldn't leave the house (spend 10 years at home) now I work as a TA in a secondary school, have moved 30+ miles away from where I grew up, and have 2 horses - I wouldn't have even believed I'd be able to walk down the road never mind anything else)

It's like falling off a horse you get back on and start again :p
