They took the ball cock system hubby had set up as well so's we didn't have to trek across with buckets or try and rememeber to turn the tap off.
'They' must have carried it over two fences and a locked gate.

Really peed off

It means our yard is not as tucked away and unnoticeable as we thought).

OMG - how did they lift it? Would it honestly have been worth the risk and effort??? The mind boggles.

God, is nothing safe? Thank goodness it wasn't your animals they were interested in.

Sorry to hear about your theft. It is true to say that nothing is safe. We had a 30' diameter metal exercise pen stolen one night last year (to make it worse it was on loan from an acquaintance). The thieves drove across several fields cutting the fences as they went and fracturing a water pipe in the process.
The worst thing was knowing that they'd been snooping around beforehand to see what was worth pinching.
It wouldn't have been so bad if it had gone to another horsey home but it's almost certainly been melted down as scrap.

I'm sorry to hear about your trough, this thieving really is becoming ridiculous.

We had two 5ltr cans of water pinched!

They were just plain 5 ltr cans and we used the water to wash off our boots after riding / work. We have a footpath that runs the other side of the fence and someone must have stretched through the fence (no footprints in the snow) to pinch the cans. What was the point of that?

Lady who owns the field next to ours recently had a full hay net and a poo scoop nicked and wheel barrows have wandered off in the past.
