Someone has been giving my boy confidence juice!

This is a horse who last year wouldn't go out in front on a hack and spooked at everything.

Well now he's out in front all the way and sulks when we turn for home ;-) I'm so proud of how far we've come and how much we trust each other now

If you find out who gave him the confidence juice can you ask them where I can get some please?!

I have had my horse for 5 years, he is now 19, he won't hack alone and he won't go in front! I don't think there is much hope for him!

Well done to you and your horse though.

I think with B the difference has been made by going out without another horse but with someone on foot and sticking to the same route each time so he's got used to it.

Also by letting him have a good look at things he's not sure of and riding with a loose rein xx

My boy is fine with someone walking or cycling, its just a complete lack of confidence with him. He will go so far on his own, or take the lead but then its like his brain suddenly switches on and he realises he us on his own/in front and then panics and plants! I've had someone more experienced and more confident ride him and he is exactly the same with them. Oh well, I don't really like hacking alone anyway!

We were talking about this today at the yard and none of us like hacking on our own. TBH I think you're much much saver having someone with you xx
