I have a saddle for sale on Ebay. It has a lot of watchers (30) and I have just recieved an offer for it.

Trouble is, I am not sure how much the saddle is worth and if I should just let the auction run or take the offer. The person who has made the offer seems to buy and sell a lot of saddles which makes me think the saddle is worth more than the offer.

If I hadn't looked at this persons feedback and seen that she deals in saddles I would have been happy with the offer, but now I am wondering if it worth more.

If I was to accept the offer I would put up another listing with a buy it now price so as not to break any Ebay rules.

I am a ditherer - take the offer or let the auction run its course?

I was really cross yeaterday, I was watching a saddle which the buyer removed in the last few hours, she said she had been given a 'buy it now' price, except it was never listed as B.I.N.

If it is early in the listing and you are happy with the price then go for it, but beware of doing it the right way. I was pretty peed off with the seller yesterday!

I would let it run with 30 watchers. I had some alloy wheels up once got a buy it now price of £50 and i was like you do or dont i? I was moving house and wanted them out way. In end i let it run and got £102 for them. was good wheels and i only paid £100 for them.

I let an auction run yesterday - 22 watchers, and it did not get one bid! I've had alot of people since email me with offers, but well under the starting price....I don't regret letting it run though - it really annoys me when people remove it!

Hope yours sells!

i'd let the auction run i think - do you have a reserve on it?
if not, i'd try and add a reserve of what she offered (i think you can only do that if no-one has bid yet?) and then tell her if it doesnt sell, you'll accept her offer?

chances are - she will bid on it anyway with what shes offered you so whats the harm in letting it run?

email her and suggest she puts the buy it now price she's prepared to pay as a bid on the saddle. Say that she's welcome to purchase it for that price or less if she is the highest bidder, but that the auction will run its course
