Why I have had three letters from PetPlan asking for me for information about the claim when I made it perfectly clear before I even claimed about the information they are demanding from me!?!

This seems to happen alot with large companies, one person sends something out followed by others sending out the same requests. It's as though there is complete lack of communication or checking company records. I would phone them & speak. hopefully this can be ironed out.

I've phoned them twice and explained the situation, once last week and the other time around 3 weeks ago. Today I recieved the 3rd letter, it's absolutely awful communication within the company!

PetPlan want to know how my mare did her injury and when we first noticed the injury.

We phoned them the minute we got the vet out - we explained when the injury had been noticed and what she had been doing at this time. The vet also phoned them and explained also.

Since, they have sent us 3 letters asking us for the above information, 2 of which we have responded to with a phone call and the one recieved today we have emailed a response and will phone come monday.

They maybe just wanted it in writing for their files, they should've made it clear though! I would follow your e-mail up with a letter, hopefully that will put an end to it.

Recent experience with the wonderful E&L (anyone spot the sarcasm), leads me to advise you to put EVERYTHING in writing and keep copies.

We had instances where agreement was given for treatment over the phone, which we were subsequently told we could not claim for, as we did not have written consent.

By all means phone and speak to someone, but be sure to get their name and then confirm the conversation in writing.

Some insurance companies are better than others, but ALL are in the business of keeping as much of our premium as they can for as long as they can. I'm not being cynical here, I used to work in the insurance industry.

Sorry about previous post. Understood what you meant. (My brain not working properley today or any other come to that.)
Hoped I's removed it before you saw it obviously not. Anyway agree with above everything has to be in black and white (written). Hope you get it sorted soon.

dont talk about E & L. advise to everyone never use them . when my new girth snapped my beloved stubben saddle that my late dad got me was totaled as he had a breast plate on and it got dragged. E & L tried to say the girth was old . i sent the recipt for it to them and everything. needless to say i never got payed out and when jack got poisoned they took 5 months to pay out !!
