...and replaced her with a mud-covered yak!

I took advantage of the sun shining today, and gave Ella a really thorough groom this morning. Once she was lovely and shiny, and only slightly scruffy-looking where she is moulting, I took her out for a LONG walk in-hand down the road. She was obviously feeling very well and excited about going out, because she walked nicely down the road, ignoring all the cars and vans that came past, but then wanted to spin and prance and generally prat about back UP the road - thank God for my friend on her nice sensible horse who nannied us safely back to the yard!

Once we got back, it was actually very warm, and we are on restricted turnout as our fields are like bogs, so i took a chance and turned her out for an hour, naked. I thought she'd like to feel the sun on her back, and have a good roll to get rid of the itchy hair. When I went out to get her, i discovered that my lovely shiny mare had been stolen and replaced by the Creature From The Black Lagoon - but she did look happy!

More walking out tomorrow, hopefully the novelty of going out will have worn off a bit.
