Hi, for all those that are coming on the 8th May to Somerford Park. We are aiming for 10.30am - 11.00am set off on the ride. Please make sure you have booked in with Somerford Park and oh it's £14 each.
Please can you let me know your preference as to the type of ride you want? ie happy to potter around and jump what you to? string together several fences in one go? happy to jump everything? also what preference horse wise as I know some horses get a tad excited in company? ie do you want to go round as a pair? Sorry for lots of questions but would like to sort out who goes round with who as we're not going round in a HUGE group

If you would rather PM me than post in public that is fine

tried to do some flatwork tonight and he was still being a knob, pulling my left arm out of its socket so rightly or wrongly I gave in and we did some jumping, let's just say we got carted over the double and ended up puttingone stride in when its a good two strides

me thinks some stronger brakes are in order!

think it was around 10 have the full list at work. glad May is going well

will definately do more and bigger jumps this time though

don't seem to have been able to get any sense out of Pidge since we went round Somerford, either that or its the spring grass

Hello, I'm still up for coming along as well. I'll probably be bringing a race fit point-to-pointer, who might get a bit het up, and whilst that doesn't bother me much, I'm a bit worried about winding other peoples horses up.:o So anyone brave enough to go round with me, let e know. Also, jumping a few and then a calm down phase in between sounds like a plan.

See you there,

Jasmin.

Don't worry this is why we're trying to get sorted out who goes with who beforehand so everyone enjoys themselves. I personally prefer someone to go in front as I'm still getting to grips with this XC lark, but loving it already

but Pidge can get a tad excited too in company

however he was pretty well behaved with May and Sunny the other week

oooh im going tommorrow to do the xc course very exited!!
is the summer ride open now??
i arranged for the whole yard to go on it a few weeks back we just cantered over the jumps then walked to the next one...
that worked well and just had a gallop if there was space....
the winterr ride is much shorter never been on the summer one
i know the people on my yard would poop their pants with you lot
anyway any tips for the xc any jumps i HAVE to try??

Yep summer ride is open!! The jumps were all really good, quite a few new ones since I did it last year, they have some new ones in the woods too, it was just brill!!

Carmenlucy, are you doing broomhill HT on sunday? I am, but not got my times yet!

Lisa

no im not going now as im going to a cliniqe somewhere on saturday.....i dont have transport so i have to go where others go...have you jumped the sommerford course? we was going to do the boxing day hunt together wernt we!!

Baron gets a bit too excited if in a large group so I would prefer just to go around with one or two. I will have a go at most fences but will need a horse with me that can lead as Baron can nap (stupid horse naps when infront and has excited bucking fits when behind but id rather put up with the bucks than the napping).

I dont mind if we go slow or fast but would pefer a bit of both

hiya I will be going round with Julie as her horse has never even seen a XC fence. Beacon is being rather a pain in large groups since going hunting this season so it maybe for my sake too lol and yes have booked

looking forward too it

Off here tomorrow www.rudgeriding.co.uk gosh they are huge, I am so going to die HELP {}{}{}

sounds very similar to Pidge as he is better with a lead unless I am 100% confident! We won't go round in groups of more than 3 as that is asking for trouble. when we went with Lisa we cantered over the jumps (or occassionally walked over them

) and walked inbetween them but had 2 gallops uphill which was fab

woah they look big! good luck for tomorrow
grin.gif
we're doing the HT at ranton on the 12th are you entering that one?

yeah it is a big course for little old me. If he goes reasonably well tomorrow will do the HT on 12th that is a much smaller course the biggest one there is smaller than the smallest one tomorrow if that makes sense?? Just hope I survive tomorrow.

Did I tell you I really really love roddy?? it is awesome!!

Im not sure If I am defo coming, I Have a show on the monday, and on the following sunday, I hope I can I just not sure yet. x It will be fun ben will love it

Hi Vicky, oh go on you know you want to come along..............................
We've got a show on the Sunday, Somerford on the Tuesday and then HT on the Saturday

Well that was a disaster, I totally bottled it and only jumped 3 or 4 jumps, I have lost my confidence. Arrgghh

Mind you Pidge will tell you Beacon can stop or run out right at the last minute, despite taking you into the jump very nicely indeed.

I even bottled it for the SJ on Sunday, a friend had to twist my arm really badly to get me to even go over the practice jump never mind enter the ring.
Once in there Beacon was a star and went clear, shame I lost my way in the jump off and jumped one backwards lol Still he did well and a real needed boost for my fragile confidence

can you jump? could always come for the ride around and just do the small ones or through the water if its not too far away for you?

that's a shame

Although I can't go now as Pidge is lame I will still organise it and once all replies in will sort out who goes with who. So wish I was going.......................................
