Drove up to watch our horse compete at Somerford Park on the Sunday in torrential rain - couldn't believe it would still be on! but about 10.30 the skies cleared and there was lovely weather all day. Really lovely place, wonderful turf, well built jumps, highly recommended. We own 'Paper Tiger' who was doing OPN with Ruth Edge - he has always done wonderful dressage, and started off doing his usual lovely test - when a very silly woman who was about to go into the next arena proceeded to trot right next to his boards very close to him while he was in the middle of his canterwork in the test. He hates other horses going too close, so shied, and then she did the same again! so again he was backing off her. The judge in the other arena could see what was appening so beeping the horn trying to get her out of the way. Think she might have got spoken to after the test but didnt wait to see. Our horse still got top mark with 28, but would have been a lot better mark without the interference. Then did a lovely double clear with 5 SJ time penalties, and he was fab XC - so he was third, so we were very pleased anyway.

thanks, yes, he is lovely and we are very proud of him. We bred him (by Java Tiger out of my irish thoroughbred mare ). He also won the Scottish Novice Open regionals and was 7th at the Nationals with his dressage. Yes, he will go novice next year. She wants to keep him PN this year, SJ him over the winter ready for spring. It is his first season competing, so we want to take him carefully. But he has not had a XC fault other than his first PN when he jumped too boldly into the water and dumped Ruth(not something that happens often!!!).

quite a good piccie of him in H&H a few weeks ago at the Scottish Regionals, but I'm not very good at posting them (must work out how to use this forum properly!)
