Ok so have rung them today:
Winter ride is open, summer ride opens when the weather impoves. Lady I spoke reckons the winter ride is on a par with the summer ride.
No restriction of numbers going out together, but she did mention brakes if in company

so think we will organise groups according to preference - ie if people don't want to jump much go together, strong horses in a group of 2 max

etc
back protectors are optional
Someone suggested Easter Hols but thinking about it the motorway will be chocca with people going on holiday so perhaps a weekday in April would suit most? Please let me know what date would suit most in April and we will proceed from there.
Franctically touching wood now as less than 2 weeks till lorry goes for its plating..........................

HB cool, will check work diary tomorrow - god isn't work definately a FOUR letter word! It always gets in the way of what I really want to do.
H, yes I suppose it is a bit far for you to come over. Do they have these places over in France? Sorry am having another of my blonde days

urm...not sure, haven't had a look! I should really get off my bum and have a look...or maybe i should start off by having some lessons with a riding school then going from there when i know people some other people that have horses!!! where i will be having lessons, starting in a couple of weeks, does something different each sunday...sj, xc, dressage etc...

that sounds like a good idea as its always more fun going with someone you know. I hope you get the problems with your horse sorted out

Ride
£14 per horse, 10% discount 10 or more horses

Farm ride/Cross Country Combined

Doesn't look like there is anywhere to eat so think we will be taking a picnic

have a fridge and hob on lorry but not hooked it up yet so don't know if it works or not. Do have a portaloo which comes in very handy though!

If we all bring some things then we can have a nice bite to eat after the ride.

There is a toilet there though, saves you emptying the port-a-loo when you get back home.

Thankgod. I have a tiny bladder.

I will be wearing one. I need to use it occasionally to justify having bought it in the first place! LOL

I'll only put myself down as a maybe at the moment. Depends how Patches treatment goes. Would like to take her there with a friend of mine on her horse before we all meet up too. Need to test the brakes in her new bit.

If we have a group for wimps that is headed by someone who is 100% sure they can pull their horse up...I'll join that group.

You can come with me Patches! I'll be able to pull P up and I won't be jumping. Will depend entirely on when it is though as I won't be able to get tie off during week unless it's school holidays. I would prefer the summer ride though if people can wait! Should be open by Easter I would think.

Awww thanks I.

We'll look like little and large....I need to crash diet!!

I'm just a wimp really. Not at all confident and do not want to get into a bolting race. Patches has been known to take off when in company of horses she doesn't know. Just excitement as she's never done when I've ridden with my friend and her horse (who Patches loves with a passion!)

I agree though, the summer ride is lovely and I can't see the point in rushing out to do the winter one when we could have further if we wait a few weeks. Easter Holidays would be good for me too. I'm pretty easy about when we go.

summer ride it is then, will check exactly when Easter is and avoid the bank hols

HB I have a back protector but not used it yet, though think it may well get an outing at Somerford to be honest.
Patches, sis on Sunny may be a good pairing as he doesn't go fast and is safe and sensible?

My holiday allowance starts in April, so I'm easy!!!

I'd like to pop most of the fences and go for a bit of a blast, I can pull up, but May does prefer to be front!

Are we doing the ride only, or xc and ride?

Am also well up for a picnic!

Looking forward to it!
