Well will start off with the good - Diva has been given a wild card for the National 6 Year Old Championships at Addington on July 11th

She finished 4th just behind Forest Gump at Oldencraig by 0.1 of a mark and we were thrilled with that result so to get a wildcard is really exciting.
She has so far qaulified for the Dressage Masters semi-finals at Hicksted, the regionals at Novice and Pet Plan area at prelim with me!
Now for the bad -

Hils is getting on and his owners have decided that his 'stiffness' needs investigating. We have worked so hard to manage his needs and have done a great job (regular turnout, regular exercise, magnetic boots, Blue Chip Dynamic, leg warmers in the winter etc, etc!) but we all think the time has come to introduce some prescribed medication to help him be as comfortable as he can be. He is currently at the vets and is being scanned tomorrow so we should have a decision by Friday on how we proceed as well as an action plan for the big man. We are being realistic and I think his competition days are over but please send Hils mobility vibes!
Will let you know what they say.

Wonderful news regarding Diva - you must be really excited! Have you only just heard, as July 11th is not that far off now, is it? (Hardly time for any nerves to kick in! lol)
Hope you have a fabby time!

Not so good news on the big guy though! Mobility vibes & huggies on the way! xx
What sort of winter leg warmers does he wear? Our elderly sec B has a set of 'bedsocks' too, in the form of Thermatex leg wraps - very cosy for tired old joints or for when he needs his legs washing off!)

Hils has been wearing Thermatex too - they really helped but now the warmer weather is here they are too cosy.

Let me know how you do we decided to go to Oldencraig - better the devil you know and all that - plus she has been there a couple of times and so knows the arenas. Standard is always really high so doubt we will get to the Nationals but Oldencraig is so close and easy to get to.
Thank you - poor Hils was whinnying away to us as we left. Luckily one of the interns is a girl I was at school with and she promised to give him lots of extra love and cuddles until he becomes radioactive later on today

Yes he's riding - I crap my pants bouncing around in a Novice let alone being surrounded by all the horses hoonying around with their legs up by their ears

Hickstead is rescheduled for this saturday so will be taking her there for the semis - she has a busy couple of weeks planned bless her!
Poor Hils he was very confused when we left him - especially as OH dumped us at the vets to take Blitz home. We were abandoned in the car park for about 10 minutes but one of the nurses took pity on us and let us squat in a stable till we were seen.
