Because she was a little headshy and very tall, and didn't like having her ears touched I taught Bree to put her nose on the back of my hand held out in a fist. If she held it there without nibbling she got a healthy treat that was in the hand. I slowly increased the time she had to do it for and stroked her ears while doing it - great for cleaning muddy ears.

It's been an absolute godsend with her swollen face. I was able to hold a cool pack to her face (with it on the inside of my arm so I could tell if it got too cold) this morning for 15 minutes.

You sound like my kinda horsey person! I am always doing things like this 'just in case'. Time and patience makes life alot easier when the s*** hits the fan ;)

Bree's whole life is "just in case" work at present as she such a big horse when she's upset there's no using brute force.
