Can anyone tell me if ive missed something obvious thats stopping my clippers working please!? :o Bought them about 5 weeks ago brand new from big mail order company. Gave my pony a blanket clip 4 weeks ago (she hadnt fully grown her winter coat but was sweating- so it wasnt a thick or large amount of hair i clipped) Took them apart and cleaned them after, all fine.
Last night tried to re-clip the blanket clip and managed about half of her neck and shoulders before they cut out. Cleaned them etc, and they turned back on for approx 2 seconds before cutting out again. Now thats all they keep doing, running for a couple of seconds (just in my hand not trying to cut hair) and then cutting out.

Clippers in question are 'Maverick' battery pack clippers, which ive searched for on here and didnt get the most complimentary reviews :( lots of people saying they started cutting out for no reason etc. Have been oiled regularly whilst clipping etc, and batttery is fully charged.
Im sort of expecting they are just rubbish clippers but thought id check that i havent missed something obvious before i demand my refund :p

Any help appreciated!

My clippers have just done the same. They are my (previously) trusty Lister clippers that I have had for 8 years no bother until last year when they did the same. I sent them off to be repaired and they came back with a bill for almost £200 as they required a new motor amongst other expensive things. Think i'm just going to get a new pair if its the same problem again.

Hope yours is significantly less expensive to sort.

Hi i think i would send them back as they are to new to be having any sort of problem :(

My thoughts exactly! My OH says im within my rights to ask for a full refund from the retailer?
Its the first set of clippers ive owned so i didnt know if id missed something obvious that would stop them working!

Thanks for replies :)

Probably not the same thing but my clippers had to have a new motor (they were 18 years old at the time). My OH took the old motor apart to find it was flooded with oil, so it looks like I had been over-doing the oiling bit.
