Something sane to jump Fox - do they exist? If so, where?

My doctorate-finishing treat to myself, which has been spurring me on over the last 4 years, has been the prospect of a new horse. In the final straights now, so I had arranged to see a Knabstrupper at the w'end which involved a loooong drive and an overnight stay, but the owner has just told me they've sold it :-( V disappointed :*-(((((( Just cancelled my hotel room :-((

I live in East Cambs - does anyone know of any dealers not too far away which might have a few for me to look at? Aged 4 upwards, 16 hh upwards, able to hack out alone and likely to be sane enough for me to take to lessons & comps alone. And would go up the grades and jump Fox with work. I previously had a Cruising horse who was v sharp, and I competed him to 1 m 15 BS & got 9 or 10 BD points, so I'm not a total novice, but now that I'm pushing 50 & have an aged and non horsey o/h, I would rather not be put on the floor from spooky spins & having competed an ex-racer, would also rather not be the one rearing up & going bananas who is clearing the collecting ring. And who then won't load home.

Would like to look this w'end as I'm just sooooo disappointed re the Knab...I've been yearning for a spotty. So I don't have the hours to spare to trawl thru FB & here trying to weed out the dodgy dealers.

All suggestions appreciated! Right, back to the dissertation...

It's a long way but try Sandra Low Mitchell at Balcormo Stud in Fife, I'm sure she was standing a knabstrupper so might have something - a flight to Edinburgh and a shortish drive to her, her website isn't up to date so it would be worth a call?

Kimba stud even, my horse was bred by them so I should know how to spell it! Just looking they have 3 that fit the bill on their facebook page so worth a look. They are at Blue Chip at the moment so possibly not the best time to call but really worth a call.
Brendon stud has some as well but will be a trip from where you are.

Nice horse with jumbo lines would suit, I’d be avoiding cruising lines personally lol.

I think beachball lines are sane enough, but have no idea about Spotties lol. What about meeting half way and going for a coloured? :p

Thank you for the ideas...lots I hadn’t thought of!

Agree re Cruising...mine had fab lithe paces and would jump the moon, but he was a spooky spinner and I was always pleased and surprised to finish a ride alive and intact! He did jump though, and then some.

What’s your budget ?
At Christmas I bought a horse through an Irish agent who will be a 1.40 horse he’s sensible and sane loves to jump and is careful beautifully bred ,funny coincidence his dams by Cruising .
He hacks he learning the dressage thing he’s a joy to jump .
He was a little green for his age ( he’s rising seven now ) but has a very solid record at 1.20 .
He would do exactly the job you want .
So it is worth considering a trip to Ireland you do need to add on a bit for the cost of the trip .
I am so glad I made the effort to go I am frightened to say it out loud in case I hex it but this is probably going to be the best horse I have owned .
I did get a decent price because he needed to away because of Christmas but I saw half as good at twice the price over here .
