My horse keeps playing in the field and coming in everyday with trashed rugs , with rips everywhere .
Does anyone know of anything i could spray on a rug that would keep other horses away and stop them from ripping them?????
Just a idea , if anyone has got any ideas
Thanks

You could try painting a bit of cribox on them, just a suggestion!!

I've just tried Yum Yum by Barrier. Someone on HHO recommended it. I got it online, from the cheapest place and it arrived the next day.
Hopefully it will work!
I didn't want to use cribox as it's gunky, sticky and goes everywhere. Trying to remove it from my competition horses forlock and ears was not amusing!
The Yum Yum is a clear spray and not sticky - so so far an improvement!

No defo playing watched him and they swing off eachothers rugs , not good i know but cant have any more rugs trashed i know that lol cause got to buy new ones and dont want him doing the same to them.
Think might see if i can get my hand on some of that yum yum sounds the easiest .

Couldn't you lay flat on top of your horse's back and get someone to put the rug on OVER you and the horse. Your horse goes out into the field with you clinging silently UNDER the rug. Other ned comes up to your ned and starts faffing about with the rug. You leap out from underneath it and scream very loudly and flap your arms about in a scary way. Other ned falls over with mild heart attack and never goes near your ned's rug again. Good plan???

NAF do a crib stop spray especially for rugs & bandages, we are currently using it for a foals leg bandage to try and stop her picking it to bits!!

It seems to work for a couple of days then she gets used to it.

Our vet suggested spraying the bandages with hairspray, this was recommended to him by a client, apparently, the cheaper the better. The hairspray for a couple of days following by the NAF spray for a couple of days seems to be doing the trick for us.
