I’m quite proud today. Today is the 10th anniversary of becoming a YO!

Originally the yard was mine, with my mums support, but roles have changed slightly in the 10 years due to me being abroad, loved up, starting a family etc.

I cannot believe how time has flown! Many a livery/horse has come and gone, we’ve been really sorry to see some go, relieved about others and had to throw the odd one off! We have met all sorts of horse owners from all over the place (we are next to an Army camp and as such, have had quite a few army wives over the years!).

The yard has grown somewhat, from 12 stables when we started to 19 stables, we have added another paddock, plus rubber to the indoor surface. Our priorities are still the same 10 years later – that the horses are to be turned out as much as possible, and having had 10 years of winter turnout, i would now have it no other way.

Sadly, the negative of our own place is my horse numbers has also grown... i’ve gone from a Shetland and MW hunter..... to 11 of various heights/breeds/ages with 2 more on the way!

It’s not easy at times being a YO, but you know what, upon reflection of the last 10 years, the odd bit of bother has been worth it for all of the satisfaction of the happy owners and horses who have been with us.

I just want to say a massive THANK YOU to all who have supported us in this time – former liveries, current liveries, competitors at the show we held, sponsors of the show we held (there were a lot!), local businesses, farmers, and of course those on HHO who have offered advice when needed – Thank You!

Congratulations, you always hear the negatives about yards and YO's and not the many positive experiences so many of us have. Here's to your next 10 years and more good liveries than bad!

'Happy birthday to you ',' happy birthday to you '- Feel free to sing a long at any time . Congratulations , if i had to livery and i did'nt live in Cornwall i would make my way to your yard 'post haste' - it was the winter turnout that swung it for me - i love keeping my lot as naturally as poss with 24/7 turnout and it seems that alot of yards just add on more stables without the land to back it up , which compromises turnout - not good - anyway happy birthday and well done!!
