I posted on Tuesday about Connie bucking when i asked for canter. Fair enough, Hackney's aren't cantering horses so just don't canter her.

Today i rode her and the others wanted to canter, i said i'd just let her do what she wanted, and she was doing her fast trot, but keeping up with the others.
Jasper spooked and J lost a stirrup so i pulled the reins to get connie to stop (we were in front of J and Jasper) and she launched into big bucks. Much bigger than on Tuesday and she just kept bucking. I got her to stand and tried to calm her down, she bucked on the spot then went off trotting and bucking until we caught up with the rest and she jogged along, not settling down for ages.

Do you think she's in pain or just taking the pee? It seems she just has a bucking fit whenever i tell her to do something she doesn't want to do

I was lucky to stay on, i'd just shortened my stirrups before this!

Have you had her back/saddle checked in case it's something else? If you hav it probably is taking the pee - my mare pretends she's a rodeo horse when she doesn't want to do something

I'd be interested on more info re the "I pulled the reins to get Connie to stop". Any instructor would tell you that's not how you politely ask a horse to stop! (NB - just trying to help, not criticise!)
