Sooo many bugs!

We have a had so many bugs around here. Our foal has bean loosing hair because of it. She stays in the trees and always is itching. None of true older ponies have a problem but they are pretty slim coated while she is fuzzy. Has this happens to you?

Yes to bugs, we are in rugs now, even whilst hacking.

I also found a squished snake whilst poo picking yesterday. We have adders in the area, several dogs have been bitten. I wonder if my horse killed the snake? Too squished to tell if it was a grass snake or an adder.

I wish I had some rugs for my ponies. But they are to small and hard to find one that fits them where I live. I would say your horses killed the snake. Mine once killed a muskrat?.

My pony used to stamp rats to death in his stable. It’s a real shame that the UK company Dinky Rugs doesn’t ship to Canada Hsaam because they have a vast catalogue of mini pony stuff. All I can suggest is that you bring them indoors during the worst times of day for bugs.

I will try and get some non spay flue detergent because my two minnies hate the spray. And I wish I could bring them in but my one mare always has a little panic attack and I only have on stall.
