Today my Dopey Sophie decided to chase one of the horses 
. Didn't see exactly what happened, whether she was kicked or just tangled up in the horses legs, but the outcome is a broken humerus. So after sedation and x-rays she is staying in dogspital until the plate arrives and having surgery next week. Sophie is a Saluki/Greyhound, and the soppiest dog I've ever owned... despite three other dogs at home the house seems a bit empty . If the surgery is unsuccessful for whatever reason the vet wants to amputate... please anyone who owns a dog "amputee" reassure me that she'll adapt... this is a dog who loves to jump (she does a great impression of a flea) as well as run.
(Felt a bit sorry for the vet as I was blubbing like an idiot)!
