Big lad was playing in the field, bucking and twisting and mini rears , once he nearly fell over!!! Two days later we noticed he had a sore back about 4 inches behind saddle but not on the spine... He seems ok in walk, not lame but when trotting he brushes back hoves together slightly, this he did once before 18 months ago it resolved itself over 2 months of field rest, but now the season is here, he is a working hunter, so I spoke to vet who was at yard anyway, she looked said he probably pulled a muscle in the back / rump area. Advised get back person out, who I've booked for 24 th, I am asking you people is there anything else I could do in the meantime , he is out all day and night so is moving about ok. There is no lameness at all walks ant trots ok, just brushing close behind.. I am playing he has only tweeked something and not hurt his spine.
