I got Judys feet done today and I had to get shoes on her back feet as she seems to be wearing down her back right foot by dragging it on the floor? Farrier said it could be back pain or plain laziness but she doesn’t seem to be in any pain when I ride her? She can sometimes be grumpy when I tack her up (biting on things like the gate when I put saddle on and shaking her head when I put the bridle on) but she’s always been like this and is an angel when I ride her. Farrier suggested wearing multiple numnas which I’ve never heard of?

Don't just put on loads of numnahs.

I would arrange for your vet to give Judy a once over to rule out any problems, and I would also have her teeth, saddle / bridle fit checked too.

Others may well offer alternative suggestions for you to try, but if I was in your position these three things would be first on my list. :)

I just bought her around 4 months ago and her teeth were checked to be fine and I bought the tack she was used to and my riding Instructer looked it over and saw no problems with her. Had her home just for 2 months by myself

Was she vetted when you bought her 4 months ago?
No didn’t she’s had no past issues and had same home for bout 10 years before I got her so trusted who I bought her off. She was out of shape when I got her though so been bringing her back into work

As she has been out of work, it is quite possible she has changed shape over the 4 months you have had her.

She may just be 'grumpy' - but on the other hand, she may well be trying to tell you she isn't happy about something.

I would certainly have your vet look her over, and have her teeth and saddle checked too. :)
