Sore Frog?

For the last couple of days my horse has pulled away when I've been picking out his front left hoof when I've been doing the side of his frog. It is warmer than the others, no smell and no signs of lameness, currently using purple spray twice a day. Any ideas, he is due boostes next week so can get the vet to have a look but until then......

Have you looked very very very cosely all over the underside of the foot for foreign objects? Nails, thorns, tiny pieces of slate or stone etc etc etc. Easy to miss.
