Hi, I'm new here but was hoping for some advice....

I had my stallions gelded three weeks ago. Since then one of them has been intermitently lame on his hind left leg. In the last few days i have noticed the inside of his legs has lost the fur and seems sore and scabby. He does suffer from mud fever.

Can anyone tell me if this sounds like the mud fever has spread? Would it cause him to be lame? I have been treating it as if its mud fever and the vet is coming out next week.

Hi. If its on the inside at the top of his legs then it's most likely due to discharge from the wound post gelding, going down his legs and making the skin sore. My sisters pony had this post gelding. If the skin has become infected then he could posibly do with antibiotics.
Hope he's better soon.
