My daughter has recently started lightly riding our 4 year old TB mare (4 this last week). The problem is in her mouth which gets very sore although the skin hasnt broken.
The bit fits her well and there are no rough edges. It is a straight bar Happy Mouth. She does get argumentative but my daughter is very light with her hands.
We have tried:
Bit rings
Vetrap on the bit
Sudocrem
Vaseline
All to no avail.
Is there anything that may help or do we just have to accept that her mouth will harden with time?
