sore paw...best way to treat?

Twiglet (GWP) has taken a lump off her pad and it is sore and she keeps licking at it. We have been taking her out with a sock and a plastic bag on to keep it clean and putting aloe vera on but should I be doing anything else to help it harden up again and heal over?

I personally wouldnt put anything on it except a clean pad to walk with. I think it needs to dry out to scab over, if you keep putting moisture on it can delay the healing process. Unless it gets pussy or anything then a vet would need to see it!

My bitch had something similar last week - I just dunked it in disinfectant twice a day and it has healed nicely/

It looks worse now since I got in from work, it is really red and sore looking. Bathed it in salt water but she didn't flinch, I think she just keeps licking it.

Ok, I'm ready to bet shot down in flames with this but Honey? Its supposed to heal really well. Antibac action etc.

I won't shoot you down henners! I've heard fab reviews about manuka(?) honey and healing but know nowt about it - I think SlinkyU is an advocate for it though?

Thanks guys, I was hoping someone else might suggest something as I am at a loss. It just isn't healing, not really bad but sore and she just won't leave it alone!
I used honey for my horse with thrush though I don't think it helped really I am very willing to try!
I think Twig would have a lovely time licking it off again.
