my border collie x has always had a slightly bald toe on her back leg, she is staying with a friend a good 2 hours drive away.

she sent me a picture of her toe very red with a lump on it and completly bald. i told her to put sudocreme on it last night and she says it looks better shes not limping on it or anything, but when she was with us she did use to chew it.

not really sure what to do about it?

any suggestions?

thanks Serena

Bathe and clean it......and try to keep her from chewing at it....i would advise she is checked by the vet it could be a number of things, i.e lick granuloma, tumour, foreign body.....what ever it is its irritating her and needs checking out esp if its been like this for a period of time.

Try Camrosa - give them a ring and ask them whether they think it would help. Gave some to a neighbour for something that sounds quite similar (vet said due to heat in the blood or some such...) and it cleared it up really quickly and he doesn't lick the Camrosa off.
