Have lurked for a while...but have finally found the nerve to post .
Basically my daughters otherwise very fit and healthy chestnut mare has suffered for the past couple of weeks with sores at the base of her nostrils. I noticed she had a bit of a runny nose for a couple of days ..followed by a slight cough when working (this is now clearing). Tonight when my OH and daughter went to her she has a small raised red spot-like thing in her one nostril. They got the YO to have a look , but she doesnt seem to know what it is...but got a bit worried in case her horses were about to catch it. (funny really because when I spoke to YM last week re the sores she said that a few of them have got the same thing even one horse who lives in.)
Is this a vet-out jobby or does anybody have any other ideas...
