Hi all, ive had my horse advertised for loan for a while now, and had loads of people say yes...then back out the day before they was due to pick him up. One of them asked if i would sell him....i wasnt going to, but she could give him such a lovely and quiet home. But i just dont know how much to ask for him

He is 16h, late 20's black WBxDales gelding. Athiritic in his fetlocks, but on no medication. Has got a slightly sore back, so no one can ride him over 11stones. My vet says he is very healthy and in very good condition for his age.
He can be ridden out in walk upto 3 times a week. (vet said to keep him going or the day we stop, he will stop

He is 200% in every single way, a true confidence giver for nervous people. Brill to catch clip shoe box and hacks alone or in company, and in the heaviest of traffic. Vice free. Will come with bridle, boots, bandages 2 turnout rugs, and a HW stable rug.

I no he isnt worth alot, might not even be worth anything, but i recently saw a 13.3 late 20's cob mare companion sell for £300 without anything.

Any of you guys have a rough idea???
Thanks

If it were me, the perfect home for such a nice old man would be worth far more than any money I could get for him. I'd let him go to the lady for nothing, if I was absolutely certain it was the perfect home where he could live out his days in happiness. Might charge a nominal fee for his wardrobe if she wanted it.

i would also just let him go to a perfect home or offer him to her as a long term/permanent loan so u could get him back if it didnt work out.

In this day and age I'd be pretty wary and far more inclined to do permanent loan on a tight contract. You just never know.
If you are 100% sure (ie references from very reliable sources) then just enough to make it legal really.

Hi suzysparkle....She did want to loan him permanently, but her OH told her not to, because if anything happened to him, it wouldnt be her full responsibility? (which i assumed, and said to everyone who's enquired that he will be there responsibility, but to keep me informed if anything was to happen) So then she said, she'd buy him, if i'd consider it, which i never though i would as ive had him 9yrs and he's my big old baby lol!

Her and her OH have both said that they will pay for him....as they feel better buying, rather than have him being given to them, just i dont know price wise.
