Due to various things that have happened recently I have decided my lovely mare would have a happier life with someone else. I just don't have the time or funds to do her justice and she's just too lovely to be wasted.
My problem is how much to ask for her. She is 16hh 13yo oldenburg, the one in the photo. When I bought her 18 months (ish) ago she was schooling nicely, and jumping coloured poles in the school. I haven't done much schooling with her at all due to lack of facilites. I was working on some walk/trot dressage tests a while back but didn't get too far. With me she has been mainly hacking, on her and with others. She's quite on her toes to ride, and forward going, but not nasty at all. She will do the odd small 'take the mick' buck when schooling in canter but will settle down. She is much better in regular work. She has also been a broodmare in the past. She is lovely on the ground. She hasn't done anything at all in the past 6 months and needs building back up and getting fit again.
I'm not too worried about the price really, as long as it's reasonable. I just want her to have a good home. However I am worried that if I ask too little for her she will end up in the wrong hands, but if I ask too much I won't get any interest. Help!!

what a lovely looking mare, I really have no idea, my WB was a pittance but he had underlying problems, £2K? depends on the tack I guess. Id have a nose around the for sales and see if theres anything similar?

I would put her up at what you paid for her. If this included tack etc then include it too. She's still at the 'level' you bought her at so if she doesn't sell you can always drop the price. Look on various websites for comparables, should give you an idea if you're asking the right money

Yeh I know she's gorgeous, really sweet too, but it just isn't fair for her. I love her to bits, which is why it's taken me so long to make the decision.
I bought her for £2500 and that was without any tack or rugs. Her tack isn't worth much, just a GP wintec (in really good condition though, and fitted for her) and a cheapish leather bridle, couple of cheap rugs. I might try £3k then and see how that goes, can always drop down if no interest as you said.

Im really sorry but i wouldnt have thought you would get 3k for something that has not done anything for 6 months is in her teens and can be very forward and cheeky, you say you started walk and trot tests but didnt get very far? That would worry me if i was buying. 1 why only walk and trot on a 12yr old mare and 2, why you didnt get too far. this of course may have been down to transport or other circumstances. I think youd be lucky to get 2k for her as your description read to me.
Put simply you paid 2500 for her 18mths ago your tack isnt really worth a great deal, she has done nothing since you bought her, prices have not gone up infact looking at sale prices up and down the country they have probably come down further.
Sorry to be negative, I am only offering my opinion based on what you have put

Since posting before I had a look at some other ads for similar and completely agree with you, 3k is too much! There are horses younger that have done more for cheaper! I think I will put her on for £2500 with all the tack, rugs and bits and bobs and see what response that gets. Home really is more important than price so I can always drop it.
With regards to walk and trot tests, that was because I havent done any dressage before and am not very confident in the school so was starting from the bottom. Didn't get very far because I couldn't ride her as much as I needed to, and then not at all.
