Hi...
Have decided that it's time to sell my spotty pony (well 15.1 now!). I've had him since he was a gangly unbalanced 5 year old and put alot of work into him (long story to follow..!) I've spent alot of time with him over the weekend as my eventers are all broken and I've realised what a nice little horse he has turned into and that he needs to belong to someone who has the time to play with him properly, here he is bottom of the pecking order and the black sheep amongst the eventers and I'm feeling guilty as he could be having much more fun with someone else..!
We brought him from a showjumper as a 5 year old (they bred him out of a SJ pony mare who won 5 euro pony golds and by a 138 JA stallion), he had a really unbalanced canter but was jumping 1m30 out of a trot/v unbalanced canter. Anyhow after about two years of work he had improved but was still v hard work in canter and had a bit of an inconsistant stop, cue a trip to AHT where they found he had damage to both front suspensorys, probably due to jumping huge fences as a young pony (we certainely hadn't pushed him jumping wise!) He had never taken a lame step but felt v guily about having him that long with him in pain
So anyway we have spent the last year box resting and walking out, building it up v carefully and doing everything properly and they are completely healed and he is moving and jumping so much better now.
He's pretty much unbeatable now at unaffiliated dressage and is jumping 2'6-2'9 really happily. But although he has the scope to go much further I don't want the strain put back on his suspensorys. I am looking for a sort of riding club/mother daughter share home. He is a really lovely animal to hack out (Regularly crosses over and under motorway bridges, crosses over railway bridges when a train comes underneath, hacks out over the common on the buckle end of the rein and is so well behaved its untrue!) and he does hunt well. His flatwork is good, especially laterally but mediums need a bit more establishing (gets 5-6 at BD and 6-7 unaff). He got 65% ina novice unaffiliated mixed in with and affil section if that makes sense so isi more than capable of getting some novice/elem points bd although wouldn't be your world beater/regional champion! I just think he would be happier at that sort of a home (I'm trying to describe the sort of home I'm looking for I guess but failing!). He's just so loveable (when you skip him out he holds the end of the mucking out fork with his lips! and is just such a nice horse to have around!) So bearing in mind the sort of home I'm looking for (If i've managed to convey it well enough!) how much would you ask (He's 9 now) and where would you advertise? Sorry to be a pain asking this I just absolutely adore him so can't think of a price to save my life as I'm so biased!
some pics to see his type (which ones would you use?)
I have more pics if none of those are suitable
