I'm starting to confuse myself as to which bit I should try with my new horse.
When I tried him he was in a borrowed D-ring with a single joint.
He has a tendency to run off in trot (think giraffe) and put his head down in canter (pulling me forwards in the process
)
I'm considering a loose ring snaffle (french link) and possibly a dutch gag (mullen) for jumping if I need the extra brakes while we get to know each other.
It doesn't need to be dressage legal for the moment - we have a few schooling issues to sort before we even think of doing any stressage.
