i got my eggs through the post this morn, got them delivered to my mums work and they arrived about 11 oclock, then she bought them home with her at 5 oclock, some places says wait 24 hours. can i put them under my hen in the morn or wait till 2moro eve??

It is better to wait 48 hours if they have come by post. Just leave them untouched in a safe, dry place. Not the fridge! You will get a significantly better hatching rate for leaving them. The hen won't mind - she'll wait.

A further thought - do you have a warm broody coop for the chicks? It is getting very late in the year to incubate eggs.

Store them for 24-48 hrs pointy bit down. If you have a few too many for the broody to deal with effectively then candle them, any ones that look very porous are unlikely to hatch so are best excluded. If you put too many under then a good egg could get left out for too long when they rotate them.
