Im looking at hunting for the first time. I currently show him and he has just had a 2 month break and comes back in to work next week and was thinking of hunting once he is fit again. How do i find out about local hunts and how much does it cost? also do all hunts include fences - as im not that bold over jumps.

Find your nearest pack on the link here:

The secretary will be able to tell you how much the day cap is - generally around East Anglia you'd be looking at between £50-60 for a full day in main season, but can be more or less depending on the pack.

Jumping is entirely optional, there will be people who go for the chance to go flying over hunt jumps, but equally there will be a group who keep four feet on the floor at all times and will guide you the way round to the gate.

Both the Essex and Puckeridge have very few jumps, lots of ditches though. The Essex is possibly friendlier the Puckeridge more proper! Not a lot in it and I'm sure you would have a great day with either.
