Sorry another one!! Neutering!!

No, it will not. If it is with regards to the 4 month olf terrier then he should hopefully be lifting his leg by that age and by neutering him, he will only become less dominent and unable to perform althougth he may still be interested in bitch in heat. I have never known a dog to stop lifting its leg after neutering.

Erm...there is every chance he will stop urinating on the furniture if he is castrated, ...granted he will still cock his leg out side or when walking... that is what dogs do.....they will normally scent over other their own as well as other dogs scent/urine.....do u have any other dogs in the house?

As ANIMA suggests, It sounds as though he needs a little house training in general...but castrating swill certainly help with the problem..., you could try removing him from the room...with a command...in a harsh vioce..NO! or have a water pistol ready and squirt him!
You will need to thoroughly clean the spot....with a reccomended piddle irradicator...does he do it in the same spot?
I currently have 5 castrated males in my house and 1 not.... and guess which one has piddled more than once my house...yep...the un.neutered one....I wouldnt care it not even mine..Its a boarder

I would be persistent with stopping the urinating in doors via training in general....but definatley look into castration or chemical castration, if that is something you want to look into.

sorry, i did not read all the post, i thought you were wondering if it would stop him lifting his leg in general and wee like a young dog BUT yes it shoudl stop him marking in the house which is a dominent thing. Good training should stop it, he is still young so try now .

My rottie Boo was neutered at 6 months - he never scent marked or cocked his leg before this - he weed like a girl. Since he had operations on both cruciate ligaments in his hind legs he has now started to cock his leg!
