How much winnings can a horse have before it is no longer eligible for Novice showjumping. I have looked on the BSJA rule book - but it is very hard to understand.

Many thanks.

Sorry -maybe I have phrased this incorrectly. What notional winnings can a horse have before it is out of the British Novice class?

I will post this in competitions as well.

Thanks

£100 Notional winnings, doesn't matter how much actual.

Any horse though can enter 90cm amateur classes and opens, doesn't matter how much money it has won

Its a 100 notional for BSJA,250 notional for newcomers. But if for riding club would check with your club as local shows here do exclude horse/ponies with winnings from certain classes based on amount of winnings.

No. It's £300 for Newcomers, £175 Discovery, £600 Fox

So have I got this right - a horse with more than £600 winnings, although still a "Grade C" can only do Foxhunters?

No.

If your horse has won between £0 - 100 you can jump British Novice, Discovery, Newcomers, foxhunters, Opens, Amateurs and Grade C classes - the only thing you can't jump is Grade B and Grade A

If your horse has won between £100 - 175 you can jump Discovery, Newcomers, foxhunters, Opens, Amateurs and Grade C classes

If your horse has won between £175 -300 you can jump Newcomers, foxhunters, Opens, Amateurs and Grade C classes

If your horse has won between £300 - 600 you can jump foxhunters, Opens, Amateurs and Grade C classes

If your horse has won between £600 - 1000 you can jump Opens, Amateurs and Grade C classes

If your horse has won between £1000 - 2000 you can jump , Opens, Amateurs and Grade B classes

If your horse has won over £2000 you can jump , Opens, Amateurs and Grade A classes

There are also Age clasees for either the horse or Rider.

From experience, If the horse has BSJA winnings (not sure how much but mine only has £42) then you wont be able to compete in Junior Novice RC qualifier classes (which is about 2ft6-2ft9) unless the horse hasnt been registered with BSJA for 2 years or something
