My daughter is 4 1/2 and for her age is quite a competant rider, and today just proved it to me.

There is a very nce 13 hh pony at the riding school she goes to, a much older girl was riding herm but quite frankly the pony was messing about and the girl was really not helping the situation, she kept bombing off and just not listening.

The instructors decided it would be better if the girl swapped onto another pony, and they decided to put her on my daughters pony, I was apprehensive that my little girl had to ride the pony, but I sucked it up asnd helped them change over.

Wel...... who would have thought, my litte girl took her in hand, and told her what she wanted and the pony was perfect, bless her.

I dont know if this is a sign that my girl has a great future or just that the pony did not like the other girl too much, but my little gorl has only recently started riding without being led, and she had absoulutly not problems, even the ponies head shaking dissapeared.

THanks to asnyone who takes the time to read this, but I am just such a proud mummy :D

Awww! Love stories like this :p Wouldn't tell her about it in a few years though, otherwise she might demand she gets her own pony :D Still, big well done and a slice of cheese cake to accompany MrsM's hot choccie :) xx

kids are great! my 3yr old rides a friends shetland and most mornings I wake up to her sitting on my bed with her riding hat telling me its a lovely sunny day and she'd like to go hacking!! hilarious but I feel another pony will be joining our expanding family very soon!
