i know we ve had couple of posts before about brewers yeast and how good it is - ive now ordered some from simple systems - i hasnt arrived yet - but i told a friend this mornig that i was planning to use it on my mare for calming (sweet itch and tying up help as well) and she said 'BEWARE'

- horse on her yard went nuts on it and bucked its owner off on a stubble field. So has anyone had any problems with it - as you can imagine im now a bit hesitant about using it - any info greatly apreciated - thanks x x

ive orderd some ! hope i dnt get bucked off ! how long does it take to take effect i wonder???
we`ll see i best rite i will out before trying it lol ! xx

she said about a week - the woman had had him for 11 years and he never bucked in his life ! Bit worrying isnt it!? but he is an ex race tb so perhaps ill be safe (welsh sec D)

I have had my mare on some since Sat and I do not know if she is feeling fit but yesterday she was feeling rather sharp and this never happens. I plan to jump tonight so I will see what happens

My boy gets huge amounts of Brewers yeast

Absolutely no heating / fizzy effect. In fact he is too laid back, which could be the calming properties of it!!

I have been using it as a calmer since end of last summer and it has transformed my boy from a fruit loop to a 'normal' horse (cured his bolting!!) (and he loves eating it!!

Brewers years is unlikely to have made the horse loopy, it is a known calmer and a superb feed balancer, it may just be a coincidence that the horse went loopy not long after it started on eth Yeast.

one thing you do need to be aware of is dogs eating Brewers yeast as it can cause bloat in certain dogs

thanks everyone - i will start it in about 2 weeks time - so will keep you posted - Yee Haa Ride em cowboy!!!!!!!!!! (I seriously hope not!!! x
