Sorry but...another question on bits!

Both my girls are very soft in the mouth and raise their heads and fight me if I put a little too much pressure on the reins so was thinking about milder bits rather than stronger ones. Both are currently ridden in a loose ring copper losenge snaffle. Their teeth have been checked, everything fine. Not too much of a prob with Pheeb but my 5yr old defo objects especially in canter, seems ok otherwise. Was thinking about the straight bar rubber loose ring bradoon but any advice would really be appreciated!

Maybe an eggbutt? I was always told that loose rings constantly move so it stops the horse leaning on the bit, keeping it interested. An instructor at my RS uses a Myler eggbutt with a roller (don't know the official Myler name!) on her mare who is sensitive and quite fussy in the mouth. Apparently they sit nicely and are quite still in their mouth? That's what I was told anyway xx

I have no choice but to ride one of my horses bitless as he was abused in a previous life and panics when anything goes near his mouth. He goes beautifully in a Dr. Cooks bitless bridle, and whereas I know there are limitations (you can't compete in all disciplines) maybe it's worth giving one a try? Just an idea .........

neue schele universal on the snaffle ring. worked beautifully for my soft mouths TB and i lent it to a friend who was having similar problems with her TB and the results where fab so she shelled out the £60 odd quid to buy her own. you can hire one from the horsebitshop for about £6 for a month before you have to buy it and you can swap it for different bits only pay a small amount until you find the right bit for your horse.
