I was asked to take on a wee mare in Dec of last year to bring on a bit and sell for a friend of a friend... she has turned out to be a wee star and I am thinking of making an offer on her myself, but I'm not sure what she is worth... I know the owner believes she could go far, as do I, so I'm not sure I can afford her - but here goes....

16hh rose grey/roan TB, just turned 4. Raced once as a 3 yo. 100% in all respects, never fusses or gets fizzy, sweet natured and picks things up straight away. Is walk, trot, canter in school, trots and canters over poles and is currently trotting into little jumps. Never spooky, doesnt mind traffic. Bad point is she has been seen to windsuck after her feed in the field.

Had my vet check her over before and she sailed through the tests he done (equivalent to 5* vetting).

What do you all think? Not the best pic of her but the only one on my PC at the mo....

Thanks.

You shouldn't have to pay the value of her NOW, you really should be paying the value of what she was when you started working her if you have done all the work - I presume you have an agreement to cover the liklihood of purchasing her?

As for value now, I would say around £1k to £1.5k.

Thanks you both - definately something to think about...

Unfortunately I never thought I would want to keep her - had a different horse lined up for a while - but its grown on me now that I'd quite like her to stay, just need to work out a deal, I hope...!

Thanks again.

I sold a qulity rising 4 yo that was seen to crib bite but had amazing movement and was sharp so ideal event horse. I only asked £1.5k for her as I knew crib biting would put people off and as said she was sharp
