Ok, I am struggling a bit with what to feed my 7/8ths tb and just seem to be going round in circles so all advice greatly appreciated.

She is 15.2hh in medium work including hunting. She drops off quite dramatically in winter but survives very well in summer when I can cut most of her hard feed out. Very tempermental so I tend to avoid anything too starchy that may make her worse. She has a limited appetite and is easily overfaced - a stubbs scoop of anything is just about all she will eat in one meal so over winter she is fed 3 times a day.

This winter she has decided she doesn't want to be in overnight and has been getting herself in such a stress I only bring her in when the weather is really bad, so as I'm at livery & can't feed haylage in the field she is in for about 4 hours a day with good quality haylage.

I need something that I can feed over winter to maintain her weight that she will actually eat, she does tend to get bored of feed after a while also so I regularly chop & change

She is fed a balancer & baileys outshine at all times so I need a hard feed to go with this.

She point blank refuses to eat any Dengie products.

She doesn't like a short chop type meal so that counts out any alfa type products even when mixed with beet. I've tried Winergy Equilibrium Condition but she is now picking out all the pellets & leaving the rest.

She was doing very well on TopSpec Cool Condition Cubes for a while but has now gone off them.

She was good on Baileys Endurance Mix but I changed it after concerns with the starch levels.

Pure Condition gets thrown around the stable - I guess it's too like 'chaff' in texture.

Calm & Condition just means crazy & condition for some reason.

I am now looking at Rowan & Barbary mashes as they do 2 high calorie ones so I wonder if they may be nice & palatable even if only until the grass comes.

Any other ideas pleeeeease!

A&P Fast fibre, just started feeding it to my nutty WB and is already starting to put weight on (he also gets A&P ride and relax, hi fi mollases free) Will she eat the flavoured molassed chaff?

Pure condition comes in a pellet form now - and it's slightly cheaper than the chop version. Mine love it.

Also, micronised linseed for condition and shine. You can pick up a big bag for about £20 and it lasts forever. They only need a little scoop full to make a difference.

Amymay I can't do hay in the field due to sharing with other liveries although I agree this may help with the weight but unfortunately it really isn't an option.

Ellie_e she won't eat enough of any type chaff to maintain weight, even the highly molassed ones. I haven't looked at Fast Fibre as it didn't seem calorific enough and I was a bit put off A&P products by the reaction to Calm & Condition!

I already feed Outshine so thought micronised linseed may be adding too much of an oil based product but I guess it's worth a try.

Martlin I've never heard of ERS pellets so I'm off to take a look now, I'll also look at the Pure Feeds website again as I didn't know the Condition now came just as pellets.

Thanks everyone

Saracen's re-leve is pretty low in starch and high in energy; it's designed for horses that tie up. It's a mix and has molasses in, though. You could try grass nuts, as well?
