This has been cross posted into CR but I know more people come in here so in hindsight thought it may be better to ask here......sorry!

So Ive had the ns verbindend on trial about a week now and I really cant make my mind up on what to do!!

Quick bit of background info....Autumn is a 7yo ISH (chunky monkey) currently competing novice dressage and BE100. She has always been a bit 'leany' and not the most responsive. Partly due to her build and partly due to being a bit gung ho.

As a 4/5yo we rode her in your usual loose ring snaffles (they are what I have always used on youngsters!) but the contact/work we got was always a bit 'meh' and of course w had the dreaded leaning....she also has very sensitive skin and loose rings did seem to rub her so as a 6yo we tried a full cheek french link....now I know it sounds a bit backwards saying a fixed cheek for one that can lean a bit but it did certainly help her feel more settled in her mouth and completely erradicated any marking around her lips which is a major plus. We still have days where we feel a bit 'ignorant' and heavy but thats a schooling issue surely.....

So onto now. The full cheek Ive been using on her admittedly is 1/2 inch too big and was sliding around a bit so I went online and went bit shopping. Having read the lovely NS blurb about the verbindend it sounded like it was the 'miracle' we have been hoping for and of course I was sucked in by all this and got the bit on trial. So far Ive ridden in it about 5 times and must say she DOES feel lighter in front (and its lovely!) but at the same time our contact feels ever so 'wibbly wobbly' and she wont seem to stay in one place if that makes any sense. So, what would you do.....give it a bit longer? Or try a full cheek/eggbutt and see how she feels with something more fixed?
