Hi
Just a quick question my feild has quite alot of weeds init i wasnt able to spray them this year due to some problems i have had. I was wondering if i top the field for the weeds would it be ok for my horses to carry on grazing in it? I shall be doing it myself as i have a topper it would be just topping the tops off maybe half would that be ok?
Sorry if it has been covered
Thanks

sorry, but I don't see where your are coming from?

What difference would topping the weeds make - they will still be there and they will quickly grow back.

Having said that, if its just nettles then if you do top them your horse will most likely thoroughly enjoy munching on them when they have dried to no ill effect.

I wouldn't be happy with other weeds being left to dry off and be available for my horses to eat so unless you fancy the mammoth clear up of shredded weeds after topping I'd leave well alone until you are able to spray them off properly.

(I've taken it as read that you have just dug up and burnt any ragwort that is there)

Yes i have been around and dug up all the ragwort. I was just wondering if i top the field for the weeds will the horses be ok to carry on grazing on it after it has been topped?
