How much would you pay for a 15.2hh good to hack, box, shoe. 7yo done very little and needs bringing on. Sold with tack and rugs.

a 15.2 what? TB/Warmblood/Cob?

4yo is easier to train than a 7yo who may have been schooled incorrectly - I'm finding that out now!

I paid £2500 for an 8 yo Irish TB. Stunning looking but very green. TBH, that was too much but I was out of the equestrian world for a long time. Nowadays I'd have paid £1500 at the most but you live and learn.....

Its a selle francais. I paid £2.5K without tack for a similar horse with mild sweet itch. I think everyone now asks silly money for horses and anything under £2k has either a vice or behavioural problem. If the same horse was schooled and competing what would you pay?

Well as an indicator, I've been told that if ty wasnt blind in one eye, once he's doing affiliated jumping (boy he can jump but still green) next year and doing Novice tests he should be worth about £4000 - £5000, but he'll be rising 10 then and he's blind so probably only about £2000 when he's not so green.

Depends what other good points horse has - non spooky, hacks alone etc etc.

Remember that 15.2 is quite small (since found out that Ty is 15.3) and it does hinder the price.

If horse has potential, good tack and rugs and was good to do I'd pay about £2500....not much more though sorry x

That is ok thanks. I would not pay over £2.5k either but it would have to be good and feel like it had potential. I bought mine and had it vetted, had doubts but my vet said I could have sold her next day for £4k easy. I still have her and think if we sprt her out she'll be worth £5k easily. No plans to sell this one. I am just bored and looking for a new challenge for a while so thought of buying a second horse.
I have looked at some right rubbish under £2k, people are just asking crazy prices

I'd possibly look at ex racers if you have experience with them? Get a bargain and some nice lookinig horses for next to nothing.....

My mate is looking in to them for me as she works in the industry. I had one 3yo that was stunning and I sold as an eventer but it was not easy as she was very sharp so did not appeal to many. Need a horse that would appeal to a wider audience I think?

If you're in it to make money then definately. Worth taking a quirky horse as some things can be turned around!

Ty has always been 110% in traffic but was badly schooled and a git to shoe. The later two have more or less been sorted now but the fact that he's not a spooky horse is in his blood, not something he learnt. He's also coming on well at jumping and if I can train him then he's obviously not that hard!

He can turn himself inside out though if he gets himself stressed - that's the TB side though and I think anyone that buys a TB expects that they can have their days. He's laid back at shows (so far) and has a very willing attitude. He also walks straight into a horsebox.

I don't think he would be a 'quick' project though so depends on how quickly you're trying to turn them around.

I kind of wanted something to take the pressure off my mare a bit, as she has a lot of ability so lacks confidence so I woudl like another horse I can do a little bit more with for couple of months
