Instructor mentioned that perhaps it would be an idea to sell project pony now rather than later and buy a horse the right size for me to have the summer on. But I'm not sure, so was wondering what you guys thought. This isn't a advert.... just a rambling description.

Bought from Ireland in June 09 as a 4y/o, passed 5 stage vetting, but when vet saw her here in England, he said she was turning 4 or late 3 y/o (as still teething - so would you advertise her as a rising 5 y/o or just 4 y/o? ) Broken Jan 09, turned away til June (1 week before I bought her)

We've taken it very slow, because of the whole age thing, and she was turned away Oct, and brought back into work Dec.

She's a 15.2hh liver chestnut mare, Irish Sport Horse, by Graheeb, out of V. nice coloured mare. Bred at Kiltealy Stud (I think).

Has nice paces, a huge expressive canter, going nicely on the flat, although canter needs a little more work.

Gourgeous Temperament, really sweet, always happy to see you sort. Never lifted a leg, or bitten. Cheeky, empties bins, kicks over water buckets, but so so sensible, has the dog yapping round her feet, football went straight under her legs and she stood stock still. Lovely to handle, never seen her ears go back!! Good with other horses, not bossy, shares her feed from a bucket with the others! Good to catch, box, shoe, clip etc.

Has shown an impressive jump, we've taken her to busy Weston Lawns, gone round the tiddly class clear. Not phased by any jumps. Not strong, snaffle mouthed. Hunted twice happily, stood, waited to jump, although got bored at the meet. Couldn't have been better really.
Jumps all xc jumps in our field, fine with water, ditch type things, banks. 100% on roads alone in company. Jumping around 2"3, 2"6 in at home, planning to take her out a bit more SJ and XC. Done 2 walk and trot tests, 10th and 4th with over 65% both times.

At shows, will stand on lorry all day, happy to do whatever. Just a really lovely person! :D Only thing is she has 1 large splint on near fore, and a smaller one on off fore. Have never affected her.

So, what do you think? I bought her with the intentions of doing some little ODE's (which I will get under her belt soon), but this is much sooner than was intended.

Pictures: (Please excuse the riding, riding gear and scruffy ponyy. :) Oh and size of images!)

What do you think then? :/

She looks really lovely!

In the photos she looks a bit smaller than 15.2hh to be honest, but it may be her light-weight frame. I think her size puts her in the competent child/small adult category, which may restrict her price a little bit.

With nice photos and good trial facilities to show off her jumping and x-country I think you could get 4,000 for her. With a bit of a competition record it could be more.

Personally I think you look quite nice on her and I would be tempted to keep her for another 3 months, get a bit of a competition record with her and sell her for 6,000 in early August.

She was 15.1hh when we bought her, but passported as 15.2hh and is now just on the 15.2hh mark. Thank you. :) Sounds promising, the original plan was to keep her until about then, but the first Sales in Ireland are before then, and I think I want to go back to her breeder to buy my next one (to keep - long term), so would be looking to buy off breeder before he puts any in for Sales. And can't afford to have both at the same time.
So I guess this is a bit of a test, as would like to see her through a bit more. :/ We'll see!

I agree with all of this.

You look really smart on her actually and she looks like such a sweet girl. I'd be tempted to keep her through the summer to do a bit of competing on and sell her for a bit more.

Or....keep her forever ;)

Thanks. :) Maybe thats the way to go, I'm already too attached, but unfortunately, it's not an option to keep her. 5* home is priority though. I'd love to keep in touch with any new owners.
