Having been at uni for the last three years and my horse not being fit enough, this winter I am finally in the position to have a go. I have had a look at my local draghound hunt's website and hope to go regularly this winter.

My question is re hunt fees. What is the norm?

Drag hunting being what most hunts have turned to now that hunting with hounds has been made illegal under the terms of the Hunting Act 2004.

Crikey - up in Leicestershire a full sub was about £2.5k and a visitors cap for a high Tuesday was £150!!

Thank god I didn't have to pay!!

Down in Dorset a full sub is around £900/£1,000.
The Torrington Farmers in Devon are £3 a day - that's value for money!!

Prices are bound to come down due to a lack of interest in Hunting. I hear that the Countryside Alliance are still trying to rent abandoned hunt kennels in order to raise much needed revenue.

It brings a tear to one's eye.

Well, LACS says.......

"Our suspicions were proved correct. We now know that, since the enactment of the Hunting Act, there have been many credible allegations of illegal hunting (at the end of the 2005-2006 foxhunting season we had already accumulated credible allegations of law-breaking against over 60% of the English and Welsh foxhounds packs) and the hunts have got away with most of them - because there is often not enough evidence for a successful prosecution. We also know that the intimidation and violence that was always part of the hunting world has indeed increased since the enactment of the Hunting Act."

Both hunters and anti's lying !

It must be very confusing for you there in central London!

Illegal hunting, intimidation and violence. Where are the lies there? These are things all too common within the Hunting Fraternity. You said only the other day that you support and would actively encourage attacks on hunt monitors and other civilians.
