I've seen a rather nice horse inwhich the owner wants to sell for downsize for a pony. I have a pony and need a horse. See where this is going?

How much should I ask for?

Three years old, 13.2HH, gelding. Fairly well breed and registered. Shown inhand. Done all the lunging and long reining on roads, bridlepaths, indoor and out door schools and fields etc and recently been backed - Only had a few rides of walk and trot as waiting for his saddle to arrive. He's a really gentle and honest lad. Oh and good with farrier, load and travel etc. Up to date with jabs and wormed.

I would expect to pay no more than £700 ish but you would probably get a little bit more depending on where in the country you are. Breeding doesn't mean much to me on a pony gelding and he doesn't sound like he's shown in hand or anything. Also he doesn't look very happy under saddle in that picture.

if they really like your pony, then you are in the driving seat....

say something on the lines of..."i'll give you my pony and 500quid" and see where it gets you....

you don't get if you don't ask!!!
