A friend of mine is asking £3750 for a 10 year old 128cm jumping pony with scope and potential to go on and do HOYS tracks with a small enough jockey. He is completely viceless and brilliant to do everything with except he is not a novice pony as can be quite fizzy. Championship wins at local working hunters and has also won first ridden and other showing classes. He is very ready to affilliate and is sound with clean limbs. Hunted several times this season.

How much would you expect to pay for a pony of this spec? He was jumping 1.10m fences comfortably at home with rider two years ago but rider is now to big and will jump 1.30m spread (back pole) loose schooling?

He is an amazing pony, but what would you pay for one like this?

It depends if he is jumping the odd fence at 1.10m or if he is able to jump a course at that level

If he really does have the ability to go to HOYS and jump the biggest 128cms tracks then he'd be worth a lot more than £3750

We have no jockey RHT... His last rider is 5ft 3 and keeps knocking down the fences with her legs!

Will grab a picture of him loose schooling tonight off her... You'll see him then

As a youngster, yes. But not under saddle.

He has fairly good breeding, by Sandbourne Royal Ensign.

Wasn't going to do this, but might as well, as I feel like I am typing out the same things all over again.

Any ideas as to what I can add to the advert? (I put it up for them as they are on dial-up)

Getting better pictures tonight... That one is rubbish

I think you'd be better off talking to someone who knows a lot about the pony BSJA scene ! Try KarenX....she'll give you a better idea...although it really comes down to riding the pony rather than a 'pretty' show pony piccie

Very nice!! Would'nt have a clue on pony pricing, but I think £3750 sounds very reasonable and I would probably be asking nearer the £5000 mark and taking offers.

At 10yrs old I would query why the pony hasn't made the grade already, or at least done some BSJA? It's easy to say it'll jump 1.10m at home, but will it do it week in week out at competitions?

On the plus side, pony prices have vastly inflated in the last couple of years so you'll probably get that price for him.

If its a friend then you could ask for a trial. Its got to be worth it! Although, you know what they say about doing business with friends or family?!?
