I'm looking to buy a lightweight turnout rug with a detachable neck cover to use on my mare on cooler wet days through the coming months.

I generally only ever buy Horseware or weatherbeeta rugs but have been looking at the premier equine ones. Can anybody tell me if these rugs are a good fit and durable etc ? They seem like they are good value for money.

Thanks :-)

I have the Prmier Equine Trio and Rambo Duos. I find that the PE rug is cut much deeper but due to the cut on the shoulder I generally have to go up a size (one horse is in a 6'9" Duo but a 7' PE).

I bought a premier equine fly rug because the shop talked me into it when I was going to ger horseware. MISTAKE! Didn't fit right so had to cut some neck straps off and it ripped really quickly so regreted it. Get horseware if you can- I would.

I bought one recently as i had read so many good things on here but was actually quite disappointed and sent it back and bought an Amigo instead. Wasn't a great fit on my TB and just felt a bit cheap. Maye just me though as lots of people love them.

The new Amigo bravo 12 has attachments for liners which might be worth looking at as more versatile. The ones described as "plus" come with neck included. Wynnstay Online were cheapest the other week.

I have a premier equine although it's not a very good fit on my RID mare so I wouldn't buy another one.

I've also got a lightweight Amigo which fits her much better.

WELL!!
Ive had my premier equine lite buster x for 5 years now it is still waterpoof, fits her prefectly which is a biggy for me - shes a 14.2 wide welsh cob and stuggle to find something that fits her shoulders...so shes generally in a 6'3 which is perfect for her. She wears this rug most days as she seems to keep the right temperature in it (on cool/wet days) .. i love their rugs.. i dont clip her now as shes older so doesnt warrant me adding to my 40 odd rug collection ( including all the expensive rambo supremes!!!) but i am deffinately going to buy another of these to have it as a spare. its just a perfect rug to me! im a proper rug fanatic! might get her a red one next time...black and red will look good :D
only thing first year i had it the fillet string - clip bit broke, just clipped it onto the ring, fine ever since :D
if you havent noticed i can waffle on about rugs all day hehe :p
