As some of you know I've been getting back into riding again after a break to have my little girl, who is now 2.

I sold my old boy (in my avatar) for financial reasons 6 years ago now 😱 and every now and then I go picture hunting for him on their pony club website.

I found him today and he looks so fab. He'd be about 16 now I think and he's still got an amazing pop in him. I think he was with their middle daughter (they have 3) although not sure.

I've done this before and felt fine, but this time looking has made me pretty upset. Not sure if its because I could be in the position to own again soon but I really regret selling him now. We would have been able to (just about) cope financially, although I had my reasons for selling him and he is in such a fab home.

He was and still looks to be such a dude. Such a cheeky character!!!

Pointless post really. Happy he's happy and well, sad I miss him!!

It's nice to know he's in the same home and still being loved and enjoyed. Would the owners be happy to let you go see him? You could make it known that you would be interested in buying him back if they were to sell him?

Poor you. You know now you'd have been 'just about' able to cope with him financially, you didn't know that at the time. So meany things could have taken you from 'just about able to cope,' to 'really struggling.' If you'd had to sell him ASAP you might not have been able to find him such a good home where it sounds like he is loved and well kept.

Hope you do get another horse soon, and a little pony for your daughter.

Thank you both for replying. It has made me feel better i think. Ride fast they said at the time they'd be happy for me to come see him, which I'd like I think. I'd like Florrie to meet him. I'd love to buy him back too if they ever did sell him.

Undergroundoli being really honest if I'd have kept him life would have been different as oh probably wouldn't have had the guts financially to set up his business so things would have been very different i think.

He'd have just been the perfect horse to have during pregnancy and small child. Very easy to do and so predictable and chuck out in the field-able if necessary. But I wanted more for him and I think that's what he's had tbh. He really is the perfect teenagers horse and I had the choice of three really good homes for him and picked the best. I picked well i think. I was able to name my price too as he really was such a fab teenagers horse. I really hope they keep him for their third daughter but the mum rides too and he's so versatile and will try anything. He took me BE intro and we got placed and I'm frightened of jumping!!!

Awesome horse!! Although he was a thug when I got him at 5 and needed some manners lol!!

Edited to say I have courgette cake if you fancy it!!
