i have a jack russell cross who is 9 years oldish. was in the car today when i noticed a boil thing on his shoulder him now its not a tick do i need to bring him anywhere or is this the on set of old age?

Take him to the vet. My girl had one on her backside and luckily it was just a infected folicule. The vet said if it gets bigger or starts to weep then call her again. But it should just do down. If it moves freely on the skin and does not appear attached to anything but the skin it is probably nothing to worry about.
